Chef/author David Lebovitz has done exactly what I want to do (packed up all his belongings and moved to Paris) and wrote a book about it!  I tore through his hysterical take on being an American in Paris, The Sweet Life in Paris, in one sitting this past weekend.  Anyone who has ever visited Paris before will chuckle through this story of how David “came to fall in love with – and even understand – this glorious, maddening city.”  Pick up a copy, pour yourself a glass of wine and enjoy!
